Facility Expansion and Endowment Campaign

In September 2011, the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum Foundation launched “Expand the Dream,” a 3-5 year campaign which will result in a major facility improvement and a larger endowment.

Donald F. Lamberti, founder and chairman emeritus of Casey’s General Stores, is serving as “Expand the Dream” chairman.  Mr. Lamberti’s explanation of the campaign describes it best:

“Expand the Dream is the first step of ‘second generation growth’ for the NSCHoF&M.  A new Staging and Storage facility will help us keep and preserve the significant racing treasures we know to be coming our way.  A larger endowment will ensure we have the operating strength to stage new exhibits and begin new programs.”

Facility Expansion
The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum continues to attract unique racing equipment and memorabilia.  This project will give Museum staff the facility it needs to store these treasures, prepare bigger and better displays, and rotate more items through the Museum annually.  A common sentiment among sprint car racing fans is that the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum is the best place for their collections beyond their lifetimes.

Scheduled Completion: Winter of 2016

Endowment Growth
The finest museums attribute much of their success to generous donors providing permanent funding to attract and stage unique exhibits.  The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum is no exception.  General costs to support the facility and staff are generated by annual memberships, gift shop sales, facility leases, an annual raffle, and other special events.  However, in order to create programs that reach more sprint car fans, an endowment is a must.  “Expand the Dream” is seeking $1,500,000.00 in endowment gifts to boost its overall endowment to $2 million.

A special incentive exists if you live in Iowa to make an endowment gift and receive a significant state of Iowa income tax credit.
